Sam Bokeh Shoot

I wanted to create some photographs for my double page spread which were striking and made use of the surrounding landscape of London whilst I was on holiday there. We were in a hotel on the 6th floor, where through the window we could see the skyline of London and the lights from surrounding offices and bars were still on as late as midnight. Me and my model decided to use this to our advantage, and shot him in front of the city lights using a 50mm lens on f/1.4. This worked really well, and the photographs looked like my model was outside in front of lots of lights. However, because of the angle we was placed, we could not get a lot of the lights in the shot. Therefore, I have decided that I will go and shoot some more bokeh inspired shots, and overlay these on top of the photographs I have taken below.

We then ventured outdoors to Piccadilly Square near Oxford Circus and I captured some shots of my model in the outdoor environment with the help of street lights to light my subject. These worked well, but because it was raining, the shots weren't as good as my lens kept on getting rain droplets on it.

Later on during my holiday, we visited Canary Wharf which has the most stunning architecture at night, and took some photographs of my model. At first, the shots were very dark and didn't look good at all. However, I downloaded an app onto my phone which allowed the flash light to stay on, so my model could light his face allowing me to focus perfectly and make the model look like he had been lit using professional studio lighting. These shots worked by far the best, and I am going to use some of them for my double page spreads.
