I have found the website Lookbook today, which specialises in women's fashion on their look. They had a lot of photography that I could incorporate into my final magazine layout, so I had a scout around and found some pretty inspirational stuff!
First, with regards to my studio photo shoot I have finally planned for next Wednesday with a model that I know, Zoe. We have a lot of stuff planned! However, I have been thinking about what I want to produce for my front cover. I love the idea behind the left image, as I like the way it has been composed, and the image on the right is my favourite. However, I think this type of composition would be better for my double page spread. These two images would work on their own, however, not for a front cover.
I prefer the colour on the image above, as it is pure white, as opposed to the one above which had a orange and yellow tinge to it. I love the styling of this model, however, I am having my model having a spring look, including hair, dress and make up. This look that this photographer taking a self portrait has, has a grunge look, which is completely opposite to what I want to achieve.
I was drawn to this image by the spring dress and make up, and the contrast to the striking tattoo sleeve the model has. I would love to photograph tattoos on models, but know of no one who has excessive tattoos who would be willing to model for me. Also, I am unsure of whether a tattooed model would fit in well with the aesthetic of Vogue...
This is the type of image I want to produce for my double page spread, the shot looks very spring inspired, and the location is perfect. I will still plan to take some photographs of a male model in London and see how they turn out, as I would hate the waste the opportunity, however, using a female model in an outdoor setting like this may fit my theme better!
