Changing from Male to Female Model

I originally was inspired by the female edition of Vogue and Elle magazine, intending to recreate this idea using my own photographs and theme. I booked a model, who is a friend of mine and other fellow photographers, and booked a MUA to create a photo-shoot inspired by Spring. My model was going to wear a floral maxi dress and my MUA was going to apply her make up using yellow and orange tones. However, after booking the studio and having the shoot planned for two weeks, my MUA backed out due to a paid job. Disaster. Therefore, the shoot go cancelled as two days was not enough time to find an MUA for a weekday shoot. There were a lot of problems, also, with sticking to the Spring theme. My model was more suited to dark and glamorous shoots, whereas this shoot would be more natural and bright. I then brainstormed, and decided to try and find a male model instead, as there was a lot more scope as to the theme of my Vogue issue. I found a model quickly, and with no need for a MUA, I managed to get to the studio with a male model (as well as bringing a child model as well, just to test out alternative ideas, blog post to come later). Using a male model meant that I could play around with the lighting to make them look more dramatic and "rugged", so to speak. I am really happy with how my first photo-shoot turned out, and I have now changed my idea from a female Vogue, to a new and not explored male Vogue.

"You are asked to define a theme or remit for your personal work over the duration of the module which ill result in a body of work to include new visual photographic work (an edit of 4-8 images), reflection, research and evaluation."

As I have changed my model, it is apparent that I must change my theme or remit of my personal project. After finding my model, and going for a more 'dramatic and rugged look', I have decided my theme would run along the lines of dark fashion, moody, contemporary fashion photography using alternative lighting.
