Lynx Studio Shoot

For my advertisement, which will be on the back of my magazine, I decided to use the well known brand Lynx, which is a body spray for men (recently coming out for women in the back end of 2012). I used a product table for this shoot, as it made the product the centrepiece of the advertisement. I used one light from the right hand side with a small diffuser attached, to cast a shadow and make the bottle look dramatic. This, however, caused more editing in the later stages. I originally wanted to use a black surface, but after playing around, I noticed that the edges of the bottle was lost because of the bottle being black itself. Here are some of the images I captured.

Photographing from a height does the bottle no justice, as it makes it look inferior and unimportant. Photographing from underneath makes it look powerful and important, generating a lot more interest!

The product table gave me a interesting reflection in the surface, which worked well.

This image was taken without studio lighting, just a simple light from a phone app placed underneath the product table. This kind of proved to myself that to create some good photographs, its all about the photographer and the ideas that they come up with, and studio lighting is not always essential to create  pleasing images. Although, that said, studio lighting did benefit me greatly.

I love the angle of this shot, although wonky! I will straighten this photograph out in Photoshop and edit it for my final advertisement.
