I headed to the University studio with my male model in tow and managed to get some really awesome and aesthetically pleasing shots using side lighting and different clothing. I originally had my model shooting in his glasses, and had to overcome the problem of the studio lighting reflecting in the models glasses. This was difficult because I couldn't shoot in certain angles that I liked because the lighting would completely block his eyes and therefore, making the photograph look ridiculous. I successfully got some good shots after experimenting with positioning the model and lighting flash heads. However, the reflective surfaces did not give me enough control over the positioning of my model, so then I moved on and asked my model to remove his glasses. This worked a lot better, as there was no reflection in the glass and my model was free to stand and pose however he wished. I could also direct him into any pose I saw fit, as there was no challenge to get him to pose where there was no light. Overall, I think this shoot worked well, however, If I was to repeat this shoot, I would take care with my lighting and do more research into it before I started, as for the first hour, I was messing with the lighting to make sure it looked right. I learnt a lot from the studio workshops in Photo Skills A, but I had since forgotten some of the fundamental rules of the studio and spent a lot of time messing around trying to get my set right. Here are some of the photographs I captured.
